No Shows and Non-Returns

Due to the increasing occurrences, in competition entries, of players failing to turn up or canceling after the competition has started – considered “No Shows” – and also of players failing to enter their competition cards either online or placing their cards in the card-box – considered “Non Returned” -, the Committee has had to implement a policy in order to ensure that those playing in competitions are being given the surety that their entry is protected and they will be able to play without distress due to “No Shows”.

The new policy is outlined below

A “no show” is when you fail to turn up for a pre-booked tee-time and do not notify a member of staff or if you cancel a tee time after the first tee time on the day of the competition. No shows deprive fellow members of the opportunity to play and are not acceptable. Players are solely responsible for their own name being added to the timesheets.

It is each player’s responsibility to ensure that all competition cards whether complete or incomplete are returned to the scorecard box and the scores entered onto the competition computer. A “non-return” is a failure either to enter a score or submit a card.

The Competitions Committee following advice from the English Golf Union has decided to implement the following sanctions to reduce the number of “non-returns”

Players who fail to show up for a tee time or do not return a card or enter their scores on the computer will face the following sanctions:

1st Breach – Written Warning

2nd Breach – Suspension of right to compete in the next qualifying competition

3rd Breach – Suspension of right to compete in the next 4 x qualifying competitions
