How to Play in Club Competitions

How to Play in Club Competitions

From March 2021 – if you are playing in any of the main Club Competitions which are normally held on a Sunday (with a few on Saturday) you must read the following to learn the new process we are adopting and what you need to do on the day. Booking a tee time remains the same, i.e through the BRS app, however the process on the day has changed and it is important you read this.

This year we will be ultiising the HowDidIDo and ClubV1 software much more than ever before to take us into the modern era of golf. This puts you in full control over paying the entry fee and entering your score electronically. Part of this means the pro shop will no longer be deducting the competition entry fee from your Members Card.

Instead, you need to follow the 2 steps below:

  • Step 1 – Before you Tee Off you must “Sign in” which deducts the entry fee from your Members Card
  • Step 2 – After your round you must submit your “Score Entry” electronically before you drop your physical scorecard into the Competition Box.

These can both be done in 3 ways:

  • Option 1 – on a laptop/PC
  • Option 2 – on the HowDidIDo app on your phone
  • Option 3 – on the touchscreen in the foyer of the clubhouse

Option 1, 2 and 3 will work for individual competitions.

For Pair / Team Competitions only option 3 will work.

Please find a step by step guide below on how to use Option 1 and 2 (for Individual Competitions only)

Due to COVID-19, we would like to encourage as many members as possible to use these 2 options where possible, this will reduce the number of people gathering around the touchscreen in the foyer of the clubhouse.

Please note failure to “Sign in” before you tee off will result in disqualification.

  • Go to the HowDidIDo website or open the HowDidIDo app on your phone
  • Sign in to your account
  • Click “Today’s Golf”
  • Click “Sign in”
  • Locate the correct competition and click “Sign in” again
  • Check you are happy to pay the entry fee and click “sign in” for a final time

Congratulations you are now officially registered to enter the competition and the entry fee has been deducted from your Members Card balance.

Your Handicap allowance will be shown as “Playing Handicap” – this is how much strokes you receive for the specific competition format.

Now go out and play your round of golf.

Score Entry

After you have completed your round you must input your scorecard electronically before you place your physical scorecard into the Competition box:

  • Sign in to your account

  • Click “Score Entry”
