PGA Head Pro Tom Hodgson

I’m exceptionally excited to come and start a new chapter at Gloucester GC and having met a handful of golfers who have already been incredibly welcoming, I’m really looking forward to offering some coaching and hopefully adding new ways to enjoy this game.

A brief bit about me, I’ve been teaching up in the frozen (and lately rather soggy) northern border town of Carlisle for about 6 years now, having previously worked in Berkshire, Kent and Surrey. The promise of all year sunshine, 25 degrees and palm trees was inviting enough but the facilities, progressive nature and warm welcome at Gloucester was impossible not to notice.

My ethos with coaching is that at any level, we have to progress in a direction that not only drops those scores, but does so in a way that YOU the golfer will enjoy. We play the game for so many different reasons and have so many different swings, injuries, histories…the list goes on…So we must make sure to go about the game with a mindset that you can enjoy, and turn it from feeling like an unpaid job, to more the hobby/passion/career that we started it for.
