Captains Day 2026

Captains Day 2026

Captain’s Day 2026

Yesterday, 170 players took part in Mike Ho’s Jubilee Captain’s Day 2026, making it another fantastic occasion at the club.

A huge thank you to Mike Ho, Club Captain 2026 and his family for hosting such a memorable day, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

The course was presented in outstanding condition by Duncan and his team. A big thank you to them for all their hard work, especially considering the recent weather and the challenges of working with the main machine out of action.

Another thank you to all the Clubhouse staff. From the Pro Shop assisting with all the members to the fantastic bar staff keeping us all fed and watered! Country Butchers kept everyone happy after 9 holes with a burger and a beer! And Becky, who cooked the hotdogs in the evening (with the Gloucester Old Spot Sausages from Ben Hannaby).

The trick shot show, with Dean Davis, was incredibly impressive and certainly had a few people feeling nervous!

Congratulations to James Evans, who won Captain’s Day with an excellent 42 points. Nigel Badham finished second, narrowly missing out on countback, while Gary Ash claimed third place with 41 points.

In the junior competitions, Finley Robbins won the Junior Nett Championship and stole the show with his brilliant speech. Ralph Dodwell was crowned Junior Gross Champion and, judging by all accounts, celebrated his victory well into the night!

Congratulations to all of the winners, and thank you to everyone who played and helped make Captain’s Day 2026 such a great success. It was a great evening with music from DJ Little Ricky, had loads of people up on the dance floor!
