Congratulations to Jack Davies and Jacob Hobbs for winning the Tetley-Hawkins on Sunday 2nd October.
This knockout competition started in May and saw both finalist win 5 head to head matches to get to the final.
Jack and Jacobs journey started with a 5&4 victory over Rob Dixon & Ricky Clutterbuck in round 1. Followed by a 1 up win against Ben Ward & Andy Bossons in round 2. Another 1 up win in round 3 against Steve Harrington & Chris Harrington. In the Quarter-Final they beat Stephen Hayward & Mike Ho 2 up. In the Semi-Final they won 1 up against the Defending Champions Ian Brotherton & Tony Bebber.
In the final they faced Rory Hale and Martin Whereat.
Jack and Jacob were 1 up thru 7 hole with 6 halves, they lost the 8th and 9th due to some good golf from Rory to reach the turn at 1 down.
Jacob birdied the 10th to get the score back to all square.
2 halves to follow but then a par from Jack on the 13th saw them regain the 1 up advantage.
2 more halves on 14th and 15th but then a good up and down from Jack on the 16th saw them go 2 up with 2 to play.
Jack then pared the 17th to win the hole and the match 3&1.
