Gloucester Golf Club to close at 7pm on Wednesday Nov 4th. Exciting new Turf Care R48 to be added to new machinery in 2021Posted: 03/11/2020
Government Guidelines now have been confirmed and we have to close, there was a hope that EGU were going to be able to put forward a strong case where Golf Courses could stay open, this however was not successful and sadly we have to close. The Golf Course, Driving Range and clubhouse will be open until 7pm on Wednesday 4th November.
I will of course keep you all updated on when we are allowed to re open.
The gates will be locked and we ask all members to please refrain from playing golf until it has been confirmed we are allowed to re open.
All staff that work inside the clubhouse will now go on Furlough, it has been decided that all Greenkeeping staff will remain at work full time to maintain the course, whilst also working on a new work programme that has been produced. The Greenkeepers will be on site 7 days a week and will be monitoring the course and any member seen playing will be subject to severe disciplinary action.
It has been agreed that the Membership prices for 2021 will be staying the same price and all members who have supported the club through 2020 will also be credited with a substantial amount onto their Membership cards so they can spend how they please.
To finish i want to give you Some fantastic exciting news that has now been agreed and signed off by the Directors last night.
We have now agreed to Lease a new Tru Turf R48 Golf Green Iron, this will be used to take the Greens to the next level and really improve the putting surface further.
This is another fantastic addition to the new machinery already purchased and will only enhance Gloucester Golf Club further.
We are expecting Delivery in March 2021 of the new R48 and my self and Joe are really excited about this addition.
Please all stay safe and i look forward to seeing you all again very soon, i will keep you all updated with any information on when we can re open.
